Why does my Apple Watch only make a short sound when an alert comes in?

The FireServiceRota app sends a critical alert to your iPhone, which plays a loud alarm. However, when you're wearing an Apple Watch, this audible alert only plays a short chime. Therefore, a setting on your iPhone needs to be adjusted to play the alert through your iPhone's speaker. The iPhone speaker can play an alarm louder and is therefore preferred over the Apple Watch's speaker.

Step 1.) To change your Apple Watch settings, open the Apple Watch app, often located in the Utilities folder, or search for "Watch" in your apps.

Step 2.) Go to 'Notifications'.

Step 3.) Disable FireServiceRota from matching with iPhone notifications. Because we don't want the FireServiceRota app alert to play on the Apple Watch, we need to disable it here.

That's it! You're now all set for the next notification.
