When is a person counted as part of the crew that is operationally available?

In more complex stations, with multiple appliances, duties and/or teams it can be difficult to determine whether a person should be counted as part of the available crew or not. Below we included 2 charts to help you in case the user is on-duty (blue) or on-call (green).

Before proceeding, please note there can be rotas on members of a station, on teams and on the appliances. Together they determine who is available and who is not.

The user is on-duty

The user is neither on-call nor on-duty

  • He/she can never be counted in the predicted crew availability
  • Depending on station settings, he/she can be alerted as a backup-crew in case of shortages during an alarm call.
