Enable/disable geofencing

Geofencing is a feature that monitors your availability based on your location. It sends a warning if you are registered as available but are outside the set 'available zone' around the station. You can also set it to automatically make yourself unavailable

To use this feature, three things must be configured:

  • The geofencing area must be enabled for your station.
  • The 'Geofencing' module must be enabled for your station. Persons with the appropriate authorization can request this via helpdesk@fireservicerota.com. There is a fee for this module.
  • Your personal permission is required. This feature is disabled by default, only you can enable this feature; an administrator cannot do this for you.

Your location is sensitive data and is protected in the following ways:

  • No tracking by colleagues: No one from your colleagues or organization can track your location. Your location is only visible on the station monitor during an incident and when you have confirmed attendance.
  • Full control: This feature is disabled by default. You can revoke your consent at any time via the app.
  • Automatic deletion: Location data is automatically deleted after 24 hours.
  • Encrypted connection: Your location updates are sent via an encrypted connection.
  • No sales: Your data will not be shared with or sold to anyone.
